Dell is a multinational computer technology company founded in 1984 in Texas, US.
In 2016 Dell Inc. merged with EMC Corporation (now Dell EMC) and founded a new company called Dell Technologies. Dell EMC and Dell Inc. became subsidiaries of Dell Technologies.

Dell Technologies is one of the largest technology companies in the world with 138,000 employees. They manufacture, sell, support and repair personal computers, data storage, servers, network switches, computer peripherals, printers and many other tech products.

Dell is named after the founder, Michael Dell.

Huge market share

In the first quarter of 2017 they were the third largest PC vendor in the world with a market share of 15,9%. In the first quarter of 2016, they were the largest manufacturer of computer monitors in the world with a market share of 16,8%. There are many tech companies out there, so these numbers are quite impressive.

Recycling

Since 2007 they have recovered more than 600 million kg. of used electronics. This makes them the largest recycler of e-waste in the world. They are also the first in the IT industry to use recycled plastic in the manufacture of new computers and monitors.
